About Me

Well, as this is all about C64-scene, I should start with my very first computer. In 1988 (IIRC) at the age of 13 I got a Commodore C128D (plastic) as an Xmas-present from my parents (after a hard time of begging, of course). Luckily everybody at school had a Commodore, so there was no doubt about which model I would get. I wonder what I would do today if it had been a PC, Atari or Amiga back then... But thus, I stuck with this beautiful machine and never really bothered about other systems (at least not with regards to scene).

In the beginning I played of course a lot of games. In late 1989 I made my first experiments with graphics, mostly on my own or later for an RPG-project with some schoolmates (which of course never saw the daylight). In the early nineties I saw Triangle´s demo "Road of Excess", which lit my enthusiasm for the demo-scene. I finally made contact with sceners through the famous "Computer Flohmarkt"-magazine and managed to become a member of the German group Cream (which released my first GFX-collection "Totally Bugged"), and later on joined Psychic as 2nd group. Cream died, I joined ROLE as 2nd; Psychic soon also died, and I stayed in ROLE as my only group until 2003. As I had very good contact with the Dreams-guys ever since Doc Bacardi coded a viewer for my compopic on Symmek 1997, I was happy when Ninja asked me in summer 2003 if I would like to join The Dreams; soon after that I left ROLE. I think now I have really found my home in the scene!

Besides from my obsession with Commodore 8Bit-machines (I have quite a big collection of all sorts of stuff), I am fond of VW Beetles and other aircooled VW models, enjoy reading books and watching movies (especially SF), stroll over flea-markets, try to follow the developments in the world in common (and in space science and technology in particular) and of course I like to meet friends and booze around (sometimes).

For a living, I am working with Doctors without Borders (MSF) in humanitarian aid at the moment (I´m a nurse by profession), so I am travelling quite a lot.

I don't have any message for you except this one: Stand up for peace!

About Me

I was born on Jan. 8th in 1977. Unfortunately I had to wait 10 long years till I got my first computer - the C64. After a long time of gaming and some tries in Basic I finally started to learn assembler. My first projects were some small tools and games with very ehm... interesting gfx - I call it my Yuck!-collection. :-) Later I managed to save enough money to buy a CMD-HD with amazing 20MB. Although it was a great device I was a bit dissapointed that so few games worked with it. So I patched some, which were released in the german 64'er magazin. It was a great time, but one thing was missing: I had no contacts! This changed when I got my first Modem, a 1200/75 nerve-wrecker for BTX. There I read a mail from a strange guy named Zaphod who searched members for his new group "The Dreams". Guess what I did... :-)
Being a Dreamer means party (as you can see on the Picture), nevertheless I still code sometimes. Up to now I only worked on "Knoops" and "Baccy's Nightmare", but more will come!

About Me

I was born in 1982. When I was about 5 years old I had first contact with a computer: my father's Schneider CPC464. Of course I only played games in the beginning. My uncle and some friends of mine had a C64. So, I knew this machine but I didn't own one. In 1990 my father gave away the CPC to my cousin and bought a PC. Sometimes I coded in BASIC or PASCAL, but not very often. In this period of time my uncle had an Amiga 500 which he used for playing games. I liked this computer and the games very much. Some years later he gave the A500 to me because he now played games on his PC and consoles. I've always liked the music of games and intros. In 2001 I became aware that one of the biggest demo parties (mekka&symposium) took place only a few kilometers away from where I live. This was my first demo party, I released a FastTracker2 song. The C64 entries impressed me very much. From then on I watched out for new releases (especially music) and in 2004 finally decided to make SID music myself. At the Replay Copy Convention 2005 I joined The Dreams. I hope that we'll have some nice releases and of course great parties! Besides having fun with computers I play the drums and the piano.

About Me

The nick "Mis" actually started as a joke on Danish irc channels way back. (Mis is like a sweet name in Danish for a cat...) Later I kinda caught more and more on the name, until I changed my artist nick to mis permanently. When I was 13, I got my first Commodore 64 - I was hooked immediately. The C64 was so much fun to play with, and I started programming in Basic, Comal 80 and Simon´s Basic. Graphics came into my mind as well, so I started drawing sprites, and tried programs like Koala Painter. I collected also a lot of demos. After some years I got an Amiga 500 and I had my first meeting with a music tracker - ohh boy was that fun! In the mid 90s I also joined a demo group, until it kinda faded out, so I started doing animations and music for wild compos on parties, up til 2001 when I won the 2nd price in the wild-compo at The Party in Denmark. Nice trophy and a nice stack of money! :)

Then one day Bugjam contacted me because of a 3D model of a C64 that I had on my webpage, which he wanted to use. Sounded like a nice project, so I kicked in, and after a short period I got a box in the mail containing a nice little glass cube with my C64 lazer engraved in 3D. Ohhh Sweet! We talked back and forth about C64, and he has since supported me with a few 1541 drives for my old C64 so I could get it running again, and he also informed me about modern music tools on the C64 to check out. I made a few small tunes and tests in Cybertracker, but changed to SDI instead after a while; so in the future you will hear more tunes from me, that's for sure!

About Me

Getting my first C64 at the age of 11 I was soon addicted to this machine. It was a usual carrer: Games, BASIC, Assembler. But I failed in making contacts then, so I went onto PC when I was 15. What a mistake! After two quite boring years I decided to go back to that system, where coding means most fun to me. Learning from my earlier mistake I also looked for contacts and called Zaphod's "DreamBeamBox". So I got in touch with "The Dreams" which I joined some months later. Since then I did various projects and tried to explore as many of the C64's features as possible. Still I have enough ideas and motivation left for the next years, so you may expect some releases, but please don't hurry!

When I'm not occupied by my C64, I want to work as an Embedded Linux programmer. Another passion of mine are the KEV Hannover Indians, a really great icehockey-team. If you ever go to Hannover and there is a match, GO THERE, you will love the atmosphere, guaranteed! And finally I am interested in Japan and its language. Even spent 4 months in Kyoto, a truly great experience.

About Me

In the year 1994 I was a guy, that enjoyed programming and hacking on the C64. That was the year I joined The Dreams. After that my life became hard. As I mentioned before, I was just coding and had a lot of fun. But then... So much party, so much beer, so much smoke. I was a little bit confused. I thought, computer-people were silent guys, sitting quietly in front of their computer and don't talk much. But I realized, I had to learn. These guys are different. For example: At the first meeting we held, we did really NOTHING on the C64, the machine worked only for some short Games and Demos (we needed some inspiration!). The rest of the time we had just a great party! That was a new understanding of fun for me, but a better fun by far!!! That's the reason why I'm a Dreams-Member. My former interests (coding, talk about technical things, etc.) combined with a big portion of fun; that's Lifestyle (c) by THE DREAMS! ;-)) Now, my task is to style these Web-Pages, writing some Demo-Parts when I'm asked to write them and some other things. Althoug I'm working most of the time on the PC, I love my C64 and that love never ends!! ;-)

About Me

Hi there! After really big pressure on me to write this text, I'm eventually doing it (guess what) while my computer converts some strange graphic format to an even stranger one. So I am Zaphod (but you may call me Zap), and I got my c64 many years ago for Xmas. After many months of gaming I started programming in BASIC. I wrote 2 Games first (one Blackjack, that didn't really know the rules, and a boxing game for 2 players which is quite cool - I guess I'll release it someday). Later I started coding and founded The Dreams. After our first Meeting in my village my reputation here was completely destroyed and I rarely walked on the streets without being thrown at with cowshit. Well I'm not VERY active on the c64 anymore, but I still enjoy it and sometimes a melancholical-nostalgical feeling overcomes me and I start coding or painting again (just like now). But there are more important things in life - HAVING FUN!!! In that manner: CHEERS!!!
